What do I need to bring to receive service?

  • Bring your photo ID (drivers license, state identification, or Military ID). If your ID does not have your current address, please also bring proof of your current address such as a utility bill or lease.

  • Bring a copy of all income (bank statements or direct deposit, social security benefits letter) for the house for anybody over the age of 18 or have the information accessible to be sent to email.

  • Clients must reside within the Marshfield Area United Way service area.


How often is a household allowed to use Soup or Socks?

  • Food Pantry

Households are allowed to use the food pantry one (1) time with-in a 30 day period and no more than six (6) times in a calendar year.

  • Clothes Closet

Clothes Closet services are allowed twice per year (summer clothing May-September and winter clothing October-April).

  • Diaper Bank

Incontinence supplies for adults, and children.

*Clothing appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes per person to select clothing. (1 Person = 15 minuets 2 persons = 30 minutes)

**All clients receiving shoes must be present to try them on.

***Families with children may also be eligible to receive school clothing through Best First Day.


How do I make an appointment to receive clothing?

  • Appointments can be scheduled by calling Soup or Socks at (715)387-1796. - Please leave a message if no one answers and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What if I don’t have a ride?

When is Soup or Socks closed?

  • We are closed on Saturday and Sunday

  • We are closed for major holidays

  • We will also close for inclement weather for the safety of our staff, volunteers, and clients

  • Check links for NEWS CHANNEL 7 closings and FACEBOOK

  • If Marshfield or other local area schools are closed for weather, so will we

  • If you are unsure if we are open, please call before coming to Soup or Socks CONTACT US


How long will a normal visit take?

Intake: 15 - 20 Minutes

Pantry: 15 - 20 Minutes

Total: 30 - 40 Minutes


Do I need an appointment to receive Pantry services?

No, we operate on a first come/first serve basis in the pantry.


Does Soup Or Socks have prepacked food boxes?

We do not do prepacked food boxes.


How long will the first visit take?

When you first come to our intake a volunteer will help you fill out the Soup Or Socks Client Registration Form and Food List. Once filled out, the food list is passed on to the pantry volunteer to fill your order. This process can take 30 to 60 minutes for first time visitors. We appreciate your patience.
